Welcome
My first step into this hobby happened in 1990 when I got my first serious audio components:
• Vandersteen 2Ci speakers
• Sony TA-E2000 ESD preamp (Dolby Pro Logic)
• Bryston 3B amp (I still have this one)
• Pioneer LD player (I forget the model)
I used an old Pioneer receiver to drive the back speakers and used the television speakers for the center channel. A few years
later I was kindof forced to upgrade and found a used pair of Apogee Acoustics Duetta Signatures.
If you haven't heard Apogee speakers (they're out of business and no longer made) they're nothing short of amazing. They image
like nothing I've ever heard before and have an almost cult following. True story: A fellow Duetta Signature owner visited
my house and while playing some of his reference CDs, he got up and put his
ear to the center channel speaker to make sure it really was disabled!
If you're an owner or want to be, there's
both users group forum
and a website dedicated to these excellent speakers.
